2020 Board Members Needed

Dan Kollodge | Published on 8/3/2020

Are you interested in joining the Board of the Round Lakes Property Owners Association?

In a normal year, property owners interested in joining the RLPOA board of directors can indicate their interest at our annual meeting.  This year we must elect new board members by ballot due to the fact that our annual meeting will be held virtually as a Zoom meeting.  You will be able to attend the annual meeting using a computer, a tablet, or a phone (audio only). Thus, it is not possible to run for election during the meeting as paper ballots will be collected prior to the meeting.

Therefore, the purpose of this communication is to invite any property owners who would like to join the Board of Directors to declare their interest as a candidate prior to August 15th so that they can be included on the ballot.   We currently have four open positions with two incumbents seeking reelection.

Are you interested in joining with other individuals who demonstrate a strong affection for our lake and who want to join in the collaborative actions of our board to promote and protect the health of our beautiful lake?   Board members collectively represent lake interests to local decision makers and other agencies that we collaborate with, including the Towns of Hayward and Round Lake, Sawyer County, the Wisconsin DNR and the Lac Courte Oreilles Tribe. The board provides education about issues affecting our lake, promotes water safety, and leads projects and activities that help to protect and improve Round Lakes.  The board also promotes communication and building a sense of community among property owners.

As a board member each candidate will be expected to attend monthly board meetings (currently being held virtually using Zoom) and contribute to collaborative efforts to help clarify the issues related to our lake and establish goals focused on protecting our beautiful natural resource and investment as property owners.

If you have a desire to represent the interests of Round Lakes property owners and are willing to give your time and effort on behalf of your neighbors, please consider running for membership on the RLPOA board.  The RLPOA board would appreciate the contribution of your time and effort and look forward to working with you!

Candidates should complete the attached questionnaire and send it to President@RoundLakes.org or mail to RLPOA P.O. Box 1070, Hayward, WI. 54843 by August 15th.  You must be a member of record with current dues paid by August 15th in order to be included on the ballot.  If you have any questions or would like to discuss the roles and responsibilities of board members, you can contact us at President@RoundLakes.org.
