Saturday August 18th:  Brule/St. Croix Boardwalk from 10:00 a.m. until approximately 5:00 p.m.

This boardwalk, built entirely by volunteers, is the longest and most fascinating in our region.  It winds its way thru the wetlands which cover the headwaters of both the Brule and St. Croix Rivers, the ancient drainage channel of Lake Superior during the waning days of the last ice age.  Several types of wetlands including cedar swamp and black ash swamp will be traversed and investigated without getting your feet wet.  Evidence of wildlife, along with interesting lichens and plants, make photography a must.

We will meet at the main entrance in front of the LCO College. As always, everything is provided FREE…the registration, transportation, and the tasty lunch spread! So please bring the family to enjoy Nature and learn more about its wonders. Please make sure that you register ahead of time with Amber Marlow, LCO College Director of Continuing Education, at marlowa@Lco.edu or call 715-634-4790 ext. 156. CEUs are available. Hope to see you there!
