December 2024 Dine Around is Truly a Great Experience

A beautiful place, incredible food and 36 wonderful people all created an awesome holiday party/RLPOA Dine Around on December 18, 2024 at Powells.  Heidi and Jimmy Powell and their team served up great drinks and the best food, include Prime Rib Sliders (which is the Prime Rib on their menu), Shrimp Diablo (which is part of their Thursday night Mexican special at this time), lettuce wraps, gourmet flatbreads, salad and a wonderful cheese and crackers spread.   Delicious desserts were provided by Ronda & Scott Brown, Marty & Cheryl Hanson, Ruth Pauly and Carol & Dan Kollodge.  The best part of the night - we created the space that encouraged the opportunity for mingling and lots of interaction.  We hope attendees had fun catching up with old friends and meeting new ones.  

Attendees will rave about this evening well into the new year.  Attached are a couple pictures from the event.  Thank you to the Browns and Kollodges for hosting!

Brian & Sandra Sjoberg and Gary & Ruth Pauly hosted our first cocktail style event.  What a great turn out with 52 of us!  So nice to have some time to connect with others near us on the lake.

Jeff and Annette Erdmann hosted our Group Saturday night at Powell's on Round Lake.  There were 38 of us and we all ordered off the menu.  Drinks, food, and service were excellent and we all had a great time! 

Joan Buehrle

Joan has served on the board since April 2014. Her family has been on the lake since 1976 when her husband built their cottage. Over the years, they have acquired many memories of their children growing up and enjoying various activities on the lake.  Those children are now creating new memories with their children on Round Lakes.

Since first being elected to the board, she has served as the social chairman. With consistent support from the social committee, she is responsible for our Dine Around program, running the fundraising 50/50 raffles at public gatherings, and providing support at various board activities, such as our annual meeting and Round Lakes picnics. Joan also files our annual report and procures our annual raffle license. Since 2022, Joan has completed the application for our DNR AIS Surface Water grant (AIS Treatment), as well as DNR grants for Healthy Lakes Best Practices and Clean Boats Clean Water projects. In Fall 2022 she organized a seminar aimed at improving the health of our lakes by providing education on shoreland conservation and reducing run off into our lakes.  

As a board member she functions as an active member of the team that works together to address the unique challenges our lake association encounters. Joan's goal as a member of the board is to continue the activities that she has been involved with. Her individual goal is to increase communication with and among property owners and to develop a sense of community that is focused on promoting and protecting our beautiful Round Lakes.
